Tremont Rescue has two basic life support (BLS) ambulances available to serve the community of Tremont. Our ambulances are equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment, and can be upgraded if ALS personnel are available.
Unit 2 was purchased from Foster Coach in May 2022. Unit 2 is a Ford F550 truck with a box made by Horton Emergency Services. Unit 2 is equipped with a PowerLoad stretcher system, which will load our stretcher with a patient on it into the ambulance with the press of a button.
Unit 3 has been in service at Tremont Rescue for a number of years. The box was made by MED-TEC and sold by Foster Coach.
Both Unit 2 & Unit 3 are organized similarly and have the same equipment. As our population increases, having two ambulances in service allows us to still serve our community if one ambulance is out on a call and another 9-1-1 call is made in our jurisdiction. We have used both ambulances concurrently on numerous occasions since May 2022 when Unit 2 went into service.
